VP Process Engineering


Mr. Mark Ryan is a graduate of the University of Calgary, with a B.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering. He joined O’Rourke Engineering Ltd (OEL) as a Project Engineer in June of 1993 and later moved into the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to OEL, Mark gained experience at Esso Resources Canada Ltd., Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Corporation, Tri-Ener-Tech Petroleum Services and MJ Systems.

Mark is now the VP of Process Engineering to provide technical oversight to the applicable standards and practices, as well as mentorship to OEL’s team of chemical process engineers.

With OEL, Mark’s experience is extensive. He has worked on off-shore CNG loading/unloading facilities. He’s been part of the detailed design, construction management and start-up supervision of numerous sweet and sour gas processing facilities and pipeline systems, including conventional and aqueous acid-gas re-injection. He’s also been involved in the design of pilot-scale facilities for proprietary sulphur recovery processes and coordinated the regulatory and environmental aspects of these projects.
